Who killed Bogle? Third anniversary of dancer's death

I was a big fan of dancer Bogle, I would hang out with him on Lincoln Crescent, and do stories about his dances and slangs long before they became popular in the streets. He would always call me Mr. Mills even though he was several years my senior. He taught me the LOY, Log On, Pop It and the Zip It Up, and he told me about the log on slang long before it became popular. He kept me on the leading edge of local street culture, so I always knew what was popping in the streets.

I fell out of contact with him after he went overseas in the weeks following Willy Haggarts death in 2001, but in about 2004, I got a surprise call from him one day when I was at The Gleaner that he wanted to see me because he had a new dance to buss called 'The Wave', and a new tune.

I was covering news at the time, but I still found the time to go see him, and I was not disappointed.  He told me that he was now deejaying and played the Weddy Time song on a stereo in a yard on Lincoln Crescent. The song would later become a hit. He also told me had adopted the unusual name of Mr. Wacky. But that was just Bogle for you.

When he was killed, I was overseas studying at university when I got the phone call at about 5 in the morning that the dancer had been killed. I was crestfallen. The call had come from photographer and former business partner Carlington Wilmot and in the days following Bogles death, I remember talking to lots of dancehall personalities, including fellow dancer Keiva, who was shaken up over his death.

As most people know, Bogle was shot dead by two men at about 2:35 am on January 20, 2005 when he stopped at a service station in Half-Way-Tree to purchase fuel. The men who were armed with handguns rode up on a grey Honda F4 motor bike and opened fire, hitting all five who were in the vehicle. One of those persons died afterwards.

On the night of the incident, it is understood that followers of Beenie Man had taken offence at the fact that Bogle had brought two fowls in a suitcase to the Weddy Weddy dance at Stone Love HQ. The fowls, especially a black one with a bead on it, was said to have represented Beenie Man. Some considered it disrespect and even vented anger at Bogle.

After Bogles death, a  premises at 12 Dillon Road belonging to John Hype's parents was torched in retaliation for Bogle's death, and Hypes passport was incinerated.

As rumours circulated linking Beenie Man and John Hype with Bogle's death and death threats were issued against the two and their camp, Shocking Vibes, issued statements dissociating the two from the murder and even offered an initial $1 million reward for information leading to the arrest of the murderers.

Beenie Man went on TV and tearfully denied being involved in Bogles death. His songwriter Don Mafia would later pen One Bag a Lie, a song that declared his innocence, and would later occupy the number one position on the charts.

Bogle has influenced the careers of several entertainers. He created the Bogle dance in the early 1990s inspiring top flight deejay Buju Banton to recorded a song called "Bogle Dance" which went to number one. He inspired Beenie Man to do World Dance, which had the memorable lines, ah one new dance weh Bogle find againRoses find a new stem.

Beenie Man would also use Bogles dances to make songs such as LOY and Row Like a Boat which had a shout-out to Bogle with the lines : "Seh Mr. Bogle have di brand new style/Come ketch di style, come get di style

He was also a major influence on breakout artistes such as Elephant Man who got one of his biggest hits with Willie Bounce which was named after Bogle's friend and Black Roses Crew member Willie Haggart, and of course, Elephant Mans breakthrough hit, Log On. He also established the careers of Voice Mail with the singles, Weddy Time, Weddy Time Again and the hit single "Wacky Dip" on the Jonkunoo riddim. Popular DJ Bounty Killer credits Bogle for making him want to dance.

Bogle also created the Urkle Dance, Sesame Street,  Pelper, LOY, Jerry Springer, Zip It Up, Hotti Hotti Bogle, World Dance, Pop Yuh Collar, Row di Boat, Out and Bad, Sweeper, Stuckie, Wave (Super Bowl) and many other popular dances. He also made a much ballyhooed appearance in the movie, Belly, which also starred Nas.

He was well on his way to becoming a bona fide recording star with his hit, All Dem Deh when he was killed.

Three years after his death, Bogles murder has not been solved. The streets say that the men who purportedly killed him have been killed already. Two years ago, the police made an arrest which was reportedly linked to Bogles murder, but nothing much has happened since then.

XNews spoke to Bogle's mother Dorothy Smith, affectionately called Mama May, a few days after his death. She said, "A Bogle buy [everything], up to mi panty fi mi. Mi leave everything to God and mi doan want nobody sorry fi mi. God is my revenge and no amount a money whey dem a put up naw bring back mi pickney. Same way people know di names a the two man, and since a dem friend and dem doan know nutten 'bout mi pickney death, dem fi just come clean and give up the man dem.

"When mi hear Beenie Man pon TV a talk 'bout a nuff people waan kill Bogle, him need fi talk who is dem nuff people deh. Bogle nuh nyammy nyammy. A mi cook him food still. A Tuesday (day before he was killed) mi cook beef and food fi him." Bogle lives on in all of us whenever we hit the dance floor and remix any of his dance moves to create some new dynamic swivel. Bogle lives on.

Police in Colorado say shots were fired at TV bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman and a bail bondsman when they tried to apprehend a man whose bail was revoked on an attempted murder charge.

Colorado Springs police Sgt. Roger Vargason says the two were attempting to take 35-year-old Hoang Nguyen into custody at an apartment complex Tuesday night when Nguyen shot at them at least once with a handgun and fled on a motorcycle.

No injuries were reported.

Vargason says initial reports showed Chapman and the bondsman were armed only with paintball guns.

Police said Chapman apprehended Nguyen early Wednesday. He was due in court Wednesday afternoon.

Chapman is best known for the TV reality series "Dog the Bounty Hunter" on the A&E network.

Rihanna hasn't had a wonderful year in the public eye after a very publicized beating in Los Angeles. Since then, Rihanna has had an outpouring of support. Recently, rumors have been spreading, friendships have been strengthened and a tour may be in the works.

After her split with Chris Brown, whom she was involved with before an alleged domestic dispute seperated them, the songstress has not been seen dating others. However, she was recently rumored to be dating Andrew Bynum, the young center for the Los Angeles Lakers. Bynum recently denied the rumors to TMZ.

Whether or not she is dating the young star, she has been getting support from friends. One of those friends, Katy Perry, recently spoke on this .

"I don't think I really, like, reached out to her. We're friends and we're both kind of on this crazy roller coaster, and ... it's nice to have good girlfriends. I pride myself on having cool chicks in my life, and she's a cool chick," Perry told MTV.

Rapper Lil Boosie is in trouble with the law again, this time over an alleged assault that took place at his house last week.

According to local TV station WAFB, Baton Rouge, Louisiana Sheriff officers arrested Lil Boosie on Wednesday (April 22) and charged him with 2nd degree battery.

Police say an unidentified man was assaulted during the April 12 confrontation, after Lil Boosie, born Torrance Hatch, accused him of stealing a necklace.

The man was treated for the non-life threatening injuries he sustained. Police say the man may have been struck with a vase during the brawl.

This is Lil Boosie's second encounter with police in the past six months.

In October of 2008, the 25-year-old was arrested when East Baton Rouge police arrested him for marijuana possession and possession of a firearm and resisting arrest.

Lil Boosie and his partner Webbie are also the subjects of several multi-million dollar lawsuits, which allege the entertainers took tens of thousands of dollars for performances, but never showed up.

Army: 3 missing disease samples likely destroyed

FREDERICK, Md. Army officials say an investigation of three disease samples missing from a Fort Detrick lab found that the samples were likely destroyed.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases at Fort Detrick said Wednesday that the samples of Venezuelan Equine Encephalitis were discovered missing last year in an inventory of a group of samples left by a departing researcher.

Spokeswoman Caree Vander Linden says the report that the vials were missing triggered the investigation, which found that the samples were likely among those destroyed when a freezer malfunctioned.

U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command spokesman Chris Grey says an extensive investigation found no evidence of criminal activity.

Former NFL quarterback Jake Plummer will be the quarterbacks coach at Sandpoint High School, in the scenic Idaho resort town where he lives.

Head coach Mike Mitchell said the 34-year-old Plummer will be paid as a normal assistant high school coach, and joked that it probably won't be what Plummer earned in his playing days.

Plummer played for the Arizona Cardinals and Denver Broncos before retiring in 2006. He threw for more than 29,000 yards, 161 touchdowns and 161 interceptions in his decade-long pro career.

Plummer is a Boise native and retired to Sandpoint, an outdoor mecca in the Rocky Mountains along the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. His brother, Eric, already lived in the town.

 Chelsea winger Florent Malouda has claimed that team-mate Frank Lampard, rather than Liverpool's Steven Gerrard, is currently the best midfielder in English football.

 

 

The Frenchman hailed Lampard and his predatory instincts as they prepare to face the Reds in the Champions League quarter-finals on Wednesday night.

"Who is the best midfielder in the Premier League? For me it is my mate, Frank Lampard. I would never say Steven Gerrard," Malouda declared. "Frank is so special because he is always focused on the opposition goal. He is always running and full of energy.

"But his game is not just about scoring goals. He comes from deep positions and that is why it is very difficult to keep him quiet.

"The ball came off the crossbar against Newcastle and he was there and scored such an important goal for us," the former Lyon player added. "Against Liverpool last season in the Champions League semi-final he was really important for us. He is full of confidence and his freedom to play can make the difference.

"That fight with Gerrard will be one of the keys but it won't be the only battle out there. Against Liverpool every player has to make the difference but the game coming up is very exciting.

"We have to put every challenge in and show a lot of discipline. It will be really tight because there are world class players in every position. We have to keep our discipline in both games and that will get us through."

Malouda insisted the Chelsea team Liverpool face will be a different proposition to the one beaten twice already this term during Luiz Felipe Scolari's ill-fated reign thanks to the stewardship of Guus Hiddink, even if striker Didier Drogba fails to recover in time from a jarred ankle.

"It is never easy to play against Liverpool but something has changed to our team since the two games we played against them earlier this season," Malouda said. "What has changed with us is the confidence and the discipline we are showing. Our top, key players are now more confident. We saw that when we played away at Anfield in our last game there.

"The final five minutes were difficult to take as they scored two goals but we are much more confident going there now and our game is in much better shape.

"We have to convert our confidence on the pitch into a win. We know it is always tight when you play against them and this will be no different." Malouda continued: "There is a lot of quality in the squad and the manager gives us a lot of confidence even when we have bad results and he tells us to play to our qualities.

"We want to win all three trophies this season. In the league it is going to be difficult. But in the FA Cup and Champions League we have got that in our minds and that is our ambition.

Sci Fi Channel is teaming with Will Smith's production company for a new crime drama.

The network has ordered "Unfinished Business," a series about an ex-cop who starts seeing flashes of memories from the recently deceased. The visions compel him to help wronged souls resolve their unfinished business.

The network, which changes its name to Syfy on July 7, plans to air "Unfinished Business" as a two-hour movie that will also serve as a potential series pilot.

"Unfinished Business" is being produced through Smith's Overbrook Entertainment, with the actor on board as one of the executive producers.

Sci Fi's most recent stab at the crime procedural genre was "The Dresden Files," which lasted 12 episodes in 2007.

Check out some of the artists performing this year at Hot 97's Summer Jam on June 7.

Word is that 50 will be keeping Yayo around but Lloyd Banks should be looking to make a move sometime soon. Word is both Def Jam and Atlantic Records want the boy wonder on their team and 50 is willing to negotiate.  Nothing has been sealed yet but it looks like no matter what, Banks will not be a part of the Unit and his contract will be sold by 50 to another label. The worst part about this is that I am hearing Banks will have no say in the negotiations so he could be sold into a straight slave deal.

Hopefully 50 wouldnt do his man like that, but hey I wouldnt put ANYTHING past this guy. When it comes to a dollar he seems to be all about it. Do you think 50 should keep banks in his army or go for the money?

The world has been anticipating LP releases of both top artists Eminem and 50 Cent since 2008. Both rappers have numerously changed release dates for their albums due to tweaking adjustments and timing conflicts. Finally, Eminem announces and confirms album Relapse release date for May 17th. An unnamed single will precede the LP, which will be airing on April the 7th. Eminem also announces that he has been working on the follow up to Relapse and that, that LP should be released later in 2009. 50 Cent has been busy working on his new album Before I Self Destruct and like Eminem, has also had to push back his LPs release date. Eminem and 50 Cent are both under the same record labels and are both working with the infamous Dr. Dre on their albums.
 
However, not both artists are getting the equal attention of the mixing master. Dr. Dre has been putting all his attention into mixing Eminems album, which has left 50 Cent's LP unfinished. Right now Im on the train and the Em choo-choo car goes first, 50 Cent told The Associated Press in a recent interview. I said my goal was to fit in with Eminem and Dr. Dre the rapper explains, I didnt mean to fit in under Eminem and Dr. Dre. Hmmm, is fifty sounding a little jealous?
 
In a interview with Howard Stern on Feb 25th 50 Cent was quoted saying Crack A Bottle.that song actually was recorded for my album and it may make it to Ems record because his albums coming out first. The download of Crack a Bottle did get released under Eminems name and was so popular that it immediately hit the Billboard 100 charts. This could be considered kind of a slap to 50 Cent since it was meant to be his song. When asked about his release date for his LP, the artists responded, Em will be completed entirely before we get a chance to finish up the pieces me and Dre did together. Poor Fifty!

Kanye West as well as Rihanna have teamed up with Jay-Zs company Iconic Fragrances LLC to launch their own fragrances in summer 2010.

Kanye has also teamed-up to create a new beverage for the "100% natural and organic" manufacturers Guru.

"I express myself through music, fashion, art, and design,' Kanye said in a statement, "and that's why I am excited to collaborate with Guru; because the brand values what I value, and I can put what inspires me into this new product."

Chicago, IL In what has been interesting news to the industry and the media for the past couple of days, Chi-Town native, Lupe Fiasco, wants to retire from the rap game for only releasing two chart topper albums.

Lupe, whose real name is Wasalu Muhammad Jaco, told his fans that after the release of his third album sometime next year he plans on hanging up the microphone for good. He left on a comment to Rap-Up.com stating that, "I just don't feel like rapping anymore." During concert in Chicago, he announced to the audience the title of his final album, 'LupE.N.D.' Interestingly enough, his final studio LP is slated to be a three-disc set using the acronyms E for the first CD entitled 'Everywhere,' N for the second CD entitled 'Nowhere,' and D for the third entitled 'Down Here.' It is said that this three-disc set will properly end his contract under Atlantic. This has become a sudden shock to many of his fans that he has collected throughout his illustrious career.

At press time, Lupe will continue presiding over his label, 1st and 15th Entertainment, a branch imprint under Atlantic. His final album LupE.N.D. has yet to secure a release date for the 2009 as it is still in a pre-production status. His most recent album 'The Cool' has sold over 500,000 units reaching a Gold status in the U.S. alone.

Kanye Wests arraignment for misdemeanor assault charges has been delayed until May 20 following a brief hearing yesterday afternoon (13 April).

West was scheduled to be arraigned on three counts of misdemeanor assault over the 11 September 2008 altercation he and his manager had with a paparazzo at Los Angeles International Airport.

The incident was caught on camera by gossip website TMZ showing what appears to be Kanye destroying the photographers flash while his manager, Don C, smashed the camera.

Kanye was charged with misdemeanor counts of vandalism, battery and grand theft, while Don C, real name Don Crowley, received two counts of vandalism, two counts of grand theft and two counts of battery. If convicted West faces up to two and a half years in jail while Crowley faces five years.

Were hoping for April, said Shynes legal counsel, Oscar Michelen, of when he is anticipating his clients release from the Woodbourne Correctional Facility in Sullivan County, New York. [But] they dont normally let you know [the exact release date] until right before it happens.

Mr. Michelen went on to clarify that, A parole hearing is scheduled for June. And if they dont release him prior to that date, then he gets his parole hearing. But they can advance that depending on the situation at the jail at that particular time. And were under the belief that it might very well be advanced [to April].

Shynes stellar personal conduct while incarcerated should contribute to his likely parole this spring.

Hes been an exemplirary inmate, Michelen told DX of the now 30-year-old Shyne (who legally changed his name in 2006 from Jamal Barrow to Moses Michael Leviy upon converting to Judaism). Hes had no problems, been very positive. As a matter of fact, myself and another person were scheduled to go up [on] the 26th of February [to see him]. Theres a dinner in honor of African-American History Month, and so Moses [is] participating in that. And hes also coordinating, getting some speakers to talk about how things have affected the criminal justice system in the last few years, [and] what we think the affect of the new presidency will be on issues affecting minorities. So hes always been involved in many positive things at the jail and has never had a problem at all whatsoever. So, hed be the perfect candidate for [parole]. The only knock against him was that he was convicted of a crime thats considered a violent crime.

Shyne was charged and subsequently convicted in March 2001 of four chargesincluding first degree assaultfor allegedly firing multiple shots into the crowded Club New York (and striking three people) after a fellow patron named Michael Scar Allen approached Sean Diddy C****s, Diddys then girlfriend actress/singer Jennifer Lopez, Shyne and their additional entourage and taunted the Bad Boy CEO by throwing money at him.

Diddy was acquitted of all criminal charges for his alleged role in the melee that night. But a subsequent civil lawsuit was filed against both the Bad Boy founder and his then artist by Natania Reuben, who was shot in the face during the incident and is now seeking a $130 million dollar settlement [click to read].

The matter is still pending in court and were awaiting a trial date, revealed Mr. Michelen, who also represents Shyne in this civil case in addition to providing the rappers criminal defense. Both Mr. C****s and Shyne are being sued; theyre [both] defendants. Id rather not comment on Mr. C****s aspect of it. I can comment on my client. Hes got his own lawyer. But [Shyne] is still a defendant in the lawsuit. There are going to be motions to dismiss. And I guess a judge will ultimately determine whether it goes to trial or not.

Mr. Michelen did not wish to reveal when asked by DX whether or not Shyne had been deposed in the civil suit yet. Shynes testimony was reported to have taken place last year following Diddys deposition in March of 08marking the first time Shyne would have gone on record (he did not testify during his criminal proceedings in 2001) about the events that took place at Club New York and whether he was or was not acting in defense or under the order of his then label boss, Diddy (Shynes then trial attorney claimed that a person in Allens entourage shot first) when he fired into the club. Shyne will likely remain on parole for nearly two years following his release, until the maximum expiration date of his sentence on March 12, 2011. Once the aforementioned civil proceeding against him is adjudicated he should be free of any legal entanglements for the first time in more than a decade.

And according to his attorney, the Belize-born/Brooklyn-raised unacknowledged son of Belizean Prime Minister Dean Barrow [click to read] who went on to gold success as a rapper (first noted for his uncanny vocal similarities to The Notorious B.I.G.) is eager to resume his life free of the criminal justice system.

I [can] only speak as his lawyer and his friend, began Mr. Michelen, but I know hes anxious to get back into the recording industry. Hes got a lot to say. And people are anxious to hear it.

Hes a very spiritual person in general, very committed [to his faith], he continued. And of course he wants to see his family. He wants to be able to make decisions for himself for the first time in years. Hes a bright man. Hes still got a lot of things to say. And I think hes going to try to make the most positive impact out of this very negative experience that he possibly can. And if anybody can do it, he can. Hes a tremendous person. He really is so much more than just a musical artist. And I think hes gonna be a force.

From what we understand he tried several times to use Aidonias name to get money and has gone as far as having people booking him for shows.

According to our source at one point he wanted someone to book him on a show and send him half the money. He even tried it with a college student claiming he would do dubplate for them.

When one college promoter refused to give him the money he got nasty telling them expletives. The school was going to take action but one thing stopped themthey soon discovered that Aidonia was on tour and therefore it was impossible for him to be in two places.

Portmore Empire's Blak Ryno leaves Jamaica today for a show at Club Eclipse in New York.

Hip-Hop star Nas has revealed details about an upcoming CD with Damian Jr Gong Marley that is titled Distant Relatives. The pair first met in 1996, but realized their chemistry in the recording studio, after they recorded Road to Zion, a track from Marleys album Welcome to Jamrock. The album was released in 2005 and earned a Grammy for Marley. The title Distant Relatives refers to Nas and Marleys chemistry, but also pays homage to their African Ancestry. There is a "lack of awareness" over condom sizesA survey of more than 1,000 men in India has concluded that condoms made according to international sizes are too large for a majority of Indian men. The study found that more than half of the men measured had penises that were shorter than international standards for condoms. It has led to a call for condoms of mixed sizes to be made more widely available in India. The two-year study was carried out by the Indian Council of Medical Research. Over 1,200 volunteers from the length and breadth of the country had their penises measured precisely, down to the last millimetre. The scientists even checked their sample was representative of India as a whole in terms of class, religion and urban and rural dwellers.

SLUMDOG Millionaire starlet RUBINA ALI'S father was arrested last night over claims he tried to sell his daughter for £200,000 ($291,000) - after a complaint from his ex-wife.

Indian cops spent several hours quizzing Rafiq Qureshi, 36, and are now anxious to obtain video recordings of the meeting at which the deal was supposedly brokered.


Rubina's mother Khurshida - who walked out on the family in 2001 - claimed she knew two weeks ago of the intended child-trade with a rich Dubai sheikh.


But she added: "My elder daughter had informed me...I did not believe he would actually go through with it."

Khurshida branded Rafiq and his new wife Mina as "money-crazy" and desperate to cash-in on the nine-year-old's fame.

Police official Prakash Salunke, who is leading the investigation, said: "Khursida was very upset by the media reports and she came to lodge a complaint.

"We are registering her grievance and then we'll investigate and decide what further steps should be taken in the matter.

"When we questioned Rubina she said she does not want to go anywhere and wants to live with her father.

"Similarly, Rafiq Qureshi also said he has no intentions of selling her."

Christian Colson, the producer of Slumdog Millionaire, said: "Our friends and colleagues in Mumbai are trying to speak with Mr Qureshi to get to the bottom of what happened."

Meanwhile, Rafiq and Rubina were in hiding after giving detailed accounts of the five-star hotel meeting with the sheikh called Yunis and his "wife".

He said the sheikh had been phoning him since Slumdog swept the Oscars in January and had explained that his wife could not have children.

At the hotel Latika actress Rubina was showered with gifts including gold jewelry and chocolate, and he believed the couple were only insterested in her welfare.

They were summoned back again the next day, at which an assistant informed Rafiq that the sheikh would like to bring the girl up as his own.

Rafiq,a £2-a-day laborer, said: "I politely said Rubina is happy with me and wanted to leave. After this they made an offer of money in English which I did not understand.

"Then they requested me to leave her there overnight and take her in the morning. I refused and took Rubina away with me."

However, family friend Dinesh Dubey said Rubina was finding the whole drama "funny" and had asked Rafiq: "Father, how did you land in trouble - because of me?"

Police filed intoxication manslaughter charges Sunday against a driver who lost control of his car while using a cell phone, plunging the vehicle into a rain-filled ditch and killing five children inside.

Chanton Jenkins, 32, was in police custody facing four counts of intoxication manslaughter, one charge for each of the children found dead so far, said Houston police spokesman Kese Smith. Police said a relative told them Jenkins was the father of three of the victims.

Jenkins failed a field sobriety test following Saturday's crash, which occurred after heavy rain turned the ditch into a torrent. The results of a *lo** alcohol test were pending, Smith said.

It was unclear if Jenkins had an attorney.

The search was continuing for the missing victim, a 3-year-old girl. A dive team searched a bayou for the child Sunday afternoon, Smith said.

The bodies of three boys ages 4, 7 and 11 were found inside the vehicle. A body believed to be that of a 1-year-old girl swept away from the car was found Sunday.

The car crashed into the ditch about two miles from the point where it feeds into Greens Bayou, a waterway that begins in northern Harris County and flows eastward and then south for about 40 miles before emptying into the Houston Ship Channel.

Jenkins and another adult escaped from the vehicle, along with a 10-year-old girl.

It took 2 1/2 hours to find the car in the ditch, which had filled with 9 1/2 feet of fast-moving water, and it was close to midnight before the current had eased enough for a dive team to recover the boys' bodies and discover that the girls had been swept away, Smith said. Police said the vehicle was swept 100 feet from the spot where it left the road.

Police said the adult passenger, who is Jenkins' brother, told police Jenkins was the father of four of the children, including the girl who escaped.

Jenkins' brother told police rain was falling heavily when Jenkins answered a cell phone. He said Jenkins lost control when he hung up the phone and the car flew down an embankment into the ditch, Smith said.

Family members and friends searched for the girls' bodies Sunday, walking with police officers along the ditch, by then no longer filled with raging waters. At least 30 family members and friends gathered at the accident site and at one point some gathered in a circle and prayed.

"We know they are not going to be found alive. But we're hoping that they can just find them," said Cheri Smith, 40, whose cousin is the mother of the two little girls. The girls, who were sisters, were cousins of the other children in the car, she said.

Cheri Smith said the family was focused on the search and not the circumstances that led to the accident.

At least one other traffic death was blamed on the powerful storms that swept across southeast Texas.

Jay-Z has broken his silence on the recent negative attention Olympic gold medalist Michael Phelps has received since an image of him with a marijuana pipe emerged.

Phelps was blasted earlier this year due to the leaked image.

Label mate The-Dream appears 14 slots down at no. 20 with his sophomore album Love Vs. Money. The singer/songwriter moved an additional 12,220 copies of his disc this week, bringing his total sales figures to 314,450.

Lohan later covered up her teeny frame under a baggy shirt while hitting a party that evening.

The 22-year-old's weight appears to have dipped down to the diminutive figure that shocked fans in 2005. Lohan later admitted to Vanity Fair that her weight had gotten out of control during that time.

"I knew I had a problem and I couldn't admit it," the singer-actress told the mag in early 2006. "My arms were disgusting. I had no arms."

Lohan also said she was "making myself sick" at the time - a claim she later said was "misconstrued."

Lohan recently told Us Weekly that she feels "so alone" after her early April split from Ronson, her girlfriend of a year.

President Barack Obama left the door open Tuesday to prosecuting Bush administration officials who devised the legal authority for gruesome terror-suspect interrogations, saying the United States lost "our moral bearings" with use of the tactics.

The question of whether to bring charges against those who devised justification for the methods "is going to be more of a decision for the attorney general within the parameters of various laws and I don't want to prejudge that," Obama said. The president discussed the continuing issue of terrorism-era interrogation tactics with reporters as he finished an Oval Office meeting with visiting King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The Washington Post questioned why Obama had come to the decision to potentially allow prosecution:

There was no immediate explanation of the reversal in Obama's position on the officials who formulated the interrogation policy, but it came amid mounting pressure from congressional Democrats and human rights activists for greater accountability regarding the program.

The AP documented how Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was barraged with questions about the President's latest on the torture issue:

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel said in a television interview over the weekend that the administration does not support prosecutions for "those who devised policy." Later, White House aides said that he was referring to CIA superiors who ordered the interrogations, not the Justice Department officials who wrote the legal memos allowing them.

White House press secretary Gibbs was peppered with questions at a Tuesday briefing about whether Obama's latest statements conflicted with signals the administration had sent earlier and Emanuel's statements of Sunday.

"Instead of referring to what anybody might have said ... I think it's important to refer to what the president said," Gibbs replied. He said that Obama has said "he does not believe that people are above the rule of law." And his spokesman reiterated Obama's position that any determination on whether laws were broken "would be rightly determined by the United States Department of Justice."

Yesterday Bow Wow held a live video chat where he answered questions from the few fans he has left.

During the chat Bow Wow revealed how uncomfortable he gets around gays.

He talked about a time where he needed a haircut and had his people go and find him a barber. But after noticing the barber was gay he told them that he didnt want the haircut anymore.

He said he didnt want a gay barber touching his head.

Im guessing either the top of his dome is his hot spot or he seems to think homosexuality is contagious.

Isnt it funny that a guy who twirled his neck like a hurricane and flinched his wrist around like it just suffered a stroke during a special with Omarion (you know, that masculine guy) is saying that hes homophobic? Were just gonna leave this one alone . FOR NOW!!!
