Bounty Killer - File
United States-based artiste Flippa Mafia yesterday put to rest rumours that he was referring to Bounty Killer in his single, Unfinished House.
In the song, he did not call any names. However, he said people have been saying that he is throwing words at Bounty Killer.
The songs says: "Mi vehicle caan dearer than mi house/ Mi rims caan dearer than mi house/ Nuff bwoy a hype over unfinished house/ an mi madda nuh waan lef Waterhouse ... Nuff bwoy out a road nuh have no sense/ a run down the hype and dem still a pay rent."
In a telephone interview with THE STAR, Flippa Mafia said: "Mi talk the things and anybody weh waan pick it up, pick it up. Mi hear seh Killer start work back pon him house and a talk all kind a things 'bout me.
"Look how much people have unfinished house. A mussi true him a build him house from 1993 mek him feel seh a him mi a talk," he added.
However, Bounty Killer said he does not believe the song is about him, so why should he be concerned?
"Is an open statement. Everybody know seh Killer have a unfinished house, but mi caan jump up and seh a me him a talk 'cause a nuh me one have unfinished house. Flippa is acting like a little b, is a girl dat taking a lot of hear say," Bounty Killer told THE STAR.
not enemies
While they are no friends, Flippa Mafia said they are not enemies. But there is one issue between them. He said Bounty Killer is yet to return the deposit from a show he was hosting about three years ago, at which Bounty Killer did not show up.
"Him still have three gran (US) fi mi, that a nuh nutten to me but a just the principle," Flippa said.
In a slightly different twist, Bounty Killer explained that Flippa Mafia asked him to perform at his show years ago, but refused to pay for the first-class ticket he requested for his then road manager, Julian Jones-Griffith. Bounty Killer decided not to go to the show as a result, and it was at that point that Flippa Mafia went to buy the first-class ticket.
By then, Bounty Killer already made up his mind not to attend the show. He said Flippa Mafia called him for the money the next day, but during the conversation he insulted Bounty Killer, who decided not to return the money as a result.
senior don
"Me and him a nuh enemy but we have a little thing. Him caan tell me fi smy madda ... yuh a young don so don't romp wid the senior don dem. He is just a little 'flipper' and mi a big 'grung god', him a go flip til him flop," Bounty Killer said, while noting that Flippa Mafia called him for months after, sometimes leaving voice messages, with the aim of getting back the money. "Suh if yuh so bad, come fi yuh money," Killer said.
In addition, Bounty Killer said Flippa Mafia became upset with him when he asked if his mother was still living in Waterhouse. But he said he only asked the question because he was concerned about Flippa Mafia's mother and her well-being.
"Him deh pon stage a dash weh money and him never buy him madda a donkey cart yet. Does Flippa madda still live in Waterhouse? I ask him that question and him get vex ... a dat hurt him mek him go do song. Instead of walking and dashing away money, him should move him madda out of Waterhouse," Bounty Killer told THE STAR.
Flippa Mafia
That aside, Flippa Mafia said he is promoting the singles Real Life Richness, Walk Over, and Deportee With Cash, which he plans to do a video for with a "real Lamborghini, nothing fake."
Both Flippa Mafia and Bounty Killer are billed to appear on Best of the Best this Sunday, May 24, at Bicentennial Park in Miami, Florida.

Buju Banton Live will be published by Buju Bantons recording company - Gargamel Music - and is being designed by Esquire Magazine designer / director, Dale Crooks, with photographs provided by internationally renowned photographer Jonathan Mannion (who happens to be a big Buju Banton fan).
The two players are likely to go head-to-head in Wednesday's Champions League final in Rome as holders United bid to become the first team to defend the trophy.
Messi, a strong candidate for the 2009 World Player of the Year, operates along the right of Barca's midfield and Evra will be charged with the unenviable task of stopping the Argentine playmaker.
But the France international, who was criticised for a wretched display against Tottenham's Aaron Lennon in March's Carling Cup final, believes he has the ability to halt Barca's prize asset after overcoming injury and suspension.
"After my four-match ban and injury I had one bad game in the Carling Cup final and people said I wasn't the same player as last year," said Evra.
"I've played for Manchester United for three years and had one bad game, so I was actually happy with the criticism because it made me believe I'm the best left-back in the world.
"When you've had one bad game and people are criticising you, it makes you proud. I said after that, 'okay, we will see'.
"It wasn't a good day in the final. It was very warm at Wembley and the pitch was difficult but I don't want to make excuses.
"I just played one bad game, that's all. But after that I think I showed people who criticised me my real form again, and you can see that now. I think the criticism helps you become stronger.
"Every year I think I have improved. I have been honoured to be named in the world's best XI twice, the Premier League XI twice, and things like that make you believe.
"You can be the best left-back in the world but if you play badly in the final, people will say you're the worst.
"And, of course, I am playing against Messi, so it won't be easy."
NBA star Carmelo Anthony has finalized a joint venture with his imprint Krossover Entertainment and Atlanta-based record label Block Entertainment.
For the last few years, Block Entertainment has been a consistent force in Atlantas music scene due to the star power of Yung Joc, Gorilla Zoe, and Boyz N Da Hood.
The joint deal will initially focus on promoting the national debut of Atlanta artist Diego Ca$h.
Locally, the Eastside rapper has been making a name for himself on mixtape collaborations with DJ Drama (Gangsta Grillz), DJ Smallz (Kill Ya Self), and DJ Paperboi (800 Bodies).
With Melos roster already including Philadelphia emcee Cassidy, Diego Ca$h feels blessed to come into a label situation surrounded by experienced industry professionals.
I am privileged to be in a position where I am able to work with such seasoned individuals in the music industry, Ca$h stated to AllHipHop.com. I plan to continue to create quality rap music while furthering my brand as a rap artist.
Carmelo Anthony is aware that many fans dont take basketball player labels seriously.
With his recent signing and joint label venture, the Denver Nuggets star expects fans to begin recognizing Krossover Entertainment as a legit entity in Hip-Hop music.
By joining forces with Block Entertainment, I am looking forward to a great business relationship, Anthony stated to AllHipHop.com. In addition to long term musical success, this movement will mark new territory in not only the Atlanta market but all over the country as well.

Kaka was strongly linked with a record-breaking transfer to Manchester City in the winter transfer window, but a switch failed to materialise and the 26-year-old stayed put.
Kaka has been playing in Serie A for six years, since joining Milan from Sao Paulo in 2003, but he admits England's top flight is a tempting destination.
He said in the Daily Star: "I like the Premier League a lot, so maybe that would be my choice if I leave Milan.
"Whenever I can, I try to swap experiences with my friends playing in other countries and leagues.
"All the players that I've talked to that play in the Premier League, or used to play there, say it's a tough league - tough, very fast and competitive."
And Mourinho now confesses that he would like to join forces with Carvalho, who has the Champions League experience Inter crave, for a third time.
The 31-year-old was linked with a move to Italy last summer but a transfer failed to materialise as Mourinho settled in at the Serie A champions.
However, Mourinho has now hinted that he could look to take advantage of Carvalho's injury-hit season and the managerial uncertainty in West London.
"Carvalho is one of the best central defenders in the world," he said in La Gazzetta dello Sport.
"A year ago it was impossible to think of him. Now I think it is."
Brazilian wing-back Maicon, meanwhile, will not leave Inter this summer despite reported interest from Chelsea and Real Madrid to acquire his services.
The 27-year-old is under contract with the Italian champions until June 2013 and has no intention of leaving the Nerazzurri this summer.
"I will remain at Inter," the Brazil international said. "I like the Italian league.
"I am happy here and delighted that this team has allowed me to prove my quality in Italy and in Europe.
"It is thanks to Inter that I have returned to the national team."
Maicon has made 28 league appearances for Inter this season and started in all of the Nerazzurri's Champions League games.
With that in mind, United are deservedly champions and whoever joins West Brom had it coming. As for this prediction business, it's been a rollercoaster and it proves to me how unpredictable the Barclays Premier League is.
I've really enjoyed looking at your picks and in all honesty we've never been that far apart. I've also enjoyed your comments, especially the not-so-flattering kind, which generally make me laugh before running to the scales (I'm not that fat!) and the mirror (I am that bald!).
I'm hoping that by next season we'll have a game in place where all results will be tracked and we can really have a Championship of our own.
Thanks for playing.

Currently, the artiste is working on his next album with Big Ship's Stephen 'Di Genius' McGregor and has already voiced eight tracks for the producer, including the soon-to-be-released Get in Spirit. According to Frisco Kid, the vibes has been "crazy" and working with McGregor has been great. He said, "The vibes real - it remind me of back in the days working wid Dave Kelly, that energy and chemistry, real musician, real people who know real music, which is even easier for you the artiste to work."
Frisco Kid said he is more than confident he can make a comeback. "I've been doing it ova di years, touch di scene from 1992 and had the hits come up in the '90s. For the summer, high-riding selector/artiste Tony Matterhorn will be promoting some new songs.
Matterhorn, who was on his way to play at Best of the Best in Miami when THE WEEKEND STAR called him yesterday, said his song Mama is doing well in Canada.
He said his techno song, Let Yourself Out and Twitter Me, are also doing well although they are relatively new. The idea for Twitter Me came from Twitter - a free social networking and micro-blogging service that enables its users to send and read other users' updates known as tweets.
"Twitter Me a get some big reviews. Actually, the whole a we deh pon BlackBerry. Mi have a whole heap a people pon Twitter and dem always a ask what I am doing and where I am going, so that's why I say Twitter me this Twitter me that," Matterhorn told THE STAR.
After Best of the Best, he will play in London and then he will be back in Jamaica for Appleton Temptation Isle in Negril for the Independence weekend.
The owners of La Roose have opted for a new image and name. Now known as the Live Wire Sports Bar and Grill, owner of the establishment, RicardoThomas, says, "We just thought it was time to move away from a certain image.A lot of things have happened in the past where the name became associated with some bad incidents, and we are trying to move away from that."
Thomasalso said though the company had been registered as the Live Wire Sports Bar and Grill, they had changed the nameto La Roose, but not that of thecompany. "So right now we are using the name that was originally registered," he said.
hosted events
Live Wire, which islocated on Port Henderson Road in Portmore, St Catherine, has hosted events like Black Scorpio's 37th anniversary, Vybz Kartel's Birthday Bash,Black and White Affair, British Link Up and, more recently, Fancy Thursdays.
Theowners say although they haverevampedthe name, they will not be excluding their previous target audience - a young crowd with a great love for dancehall music, and have even added a few eventsjust for them.
"Some of the things people can look out for is a theme night at Fancy Thursdays starting next week. Every week it will be a different theme with things like foam night, Hawaiian night, Lingerie Night, High-Roller night and that sort of thing. Another event we will also be launching issomething called 'MisMatch', where people just come out in anything! Red dress with green shoes, yellow scarf and things like that. The worst, the better. The person with the 'best' mismatched outfit will win a prize," said Thomas.
retro-night
Thomassaid there will now be events catering toan older crowd: in addition toa retro-night once a month, there will bea fish fry brunch on Sundays, with a live bandwhilecustomersenjoy great fish at the restaurant.
"The point of it is to draw a wide cross section of people, both young and old. We are all different and we don't want to hear or go to the same thing all the time. So whatever mood you're in, we have something that fits it at the new Live Wire," Thomas said.
Beenie touched the stage at about 7:30 and gave a generally decent performance - certainly the crowd was with him.
Then he start calling for Rihanna to report back stage immediately.
And then he start talking up a set of things about the infamous beating incident between her and Chris Brown, asking the crowd if they [thought] it was an idiot thing that Chris did while singing a very off-key version of the hook to Umbrella. You could hear a collective ooooohhhh! as the crowd *u*ked in its breath when he said it.
Beenie kept calling for [Rihanna] and singing Umbrella and lo and behold, she actually came up on the stage. Then he start singing his version of Umbrella , part of which went I dont have no fancy car/But [Ill] never give you no scar.
Trust me. I was shame for de girl. Everyone was shame because the crowd didnt really hype up and carry on the way they had been earlier when he was just performing all his hits. I just wanted it to end.
But Beenie wasnt done. He told her that Chris [will] get vexed when he sees the pictures of him (Beenie) and Rihanna hugging up on stage because he is the girls dem suga and anything the sugar touches get sticky.
The man suspected of killing Atlanta rapper Dolla acted in self-defense, according to his lawyer, reports the Los Angeles Times.
Dolla, whose real name is Roderick Burton II, and suspect Aubrey Berry allegedly first feuded at an Atlanta club, where Burton and his crew beat up Berry. The two then reportedly had a chance encounter last Monday (May 18) in the restroom of a PF Changs restaurant in L.A. Dolla verbally threatened Berry, following him to a parking lot where he reached for his waistband, prompting Berry to shoot at him. However, Dolla was unarmed at the scene.
[Berry] perceived that his life was in danger, said Howard R Price, Berrys attorney. At worst its a manslaughter case, at best its a case of self-defense.
The investigating police differ in their opinion of the incident. Our prosecutors believe the evidence was sufficient for a murder filing, said a spokesperson for the L.A. County D.A.s office. We try our cases in the courtroom, not on the sidewalk.
Berry, who faces one count of murder and two counts each of assault with a firearm, will be arraigned on Friday (May 22). His bail has been increased from $1 million to $5 million.- Devin
Word pon di street is that Assailant destroyed Vampires at a show in Clarendon.
No offial video yet about what happened, however we will let you read the eye witness report.
We know Assailant have more than enough lyrics to do the damage which is attributed to him,so here is the report:
"People if I weren't there I would not think it true but yes the it happened just like that.
REPORT
A dance was held in Clarendon recently and Kartel even though billed failed to turn up. He was then 'ordered' to do a free dance to help repair the promoters reputation. The dance title 'Our World' took place last night at the New Jack City Ent Ctr, Denbeigh, Clarendon.
I only got there at like 3 as I had other places from Spain onwards to pass first. I don't know who was playing when I got there but then Kevin Serious took over and totally took charge of the 'HUGE' crowd (Free dance remember). About 10 mins later I saw a wave of persons going through the dance and realised it was the Empire rolling about 60 deep. Kevin worked the crowd for about 1/2 hr more then took up his duties as the MC.
Some young artist worked ok (Big up Goldie) and then Bascom X walked up. X was good but I think he stayed too long. There was another artist then I think Kevin just said "Run a riddim deh".... about 20 persons moved towards the stage and we then realised it was ASSAILANT. Sailant got about 2 pulls then said "A who mi fi kill, cause unu know mi no rise mi gun less sumady ago dead". I was thinking that was a wrong move as the show was 'Our World' but he took on from Addi to poor little Snow Cone, especially singling out Blak Ryno and the crowd loved every minute of it. With his now familiar drink in hand swagger Sailant at one point had to beg the crowd to listen to the lyrics as it was response after response. Even after he left the stage the crowd was begging for more............
Empire smartly allowed the hype to settle for about 10 mins then 'rushed' the stage. One of the young guns (Shawn Storm I think) wasted no time and started cussing Assailant. I never liked the Empire anthem of "Weh you run fa bwoy" dropped in but hey that's me. He dropped a clumsy lyrics then passed to Snow Cone who was worst. I told my Gaza friends they need to leave it to Addi as only he can defend this. The crowd got fed up of the amatures and the Teacha jump in when the boooos started. It was obviouse this was a different class and even I was railling but Addi stepped wrong by saying "Me naw call no name"...... From this point on it went from bad to worst with Addi (Mr not calling no names) even dropping words on members on the audience. This after most of the Empire found themself falling off the riddims Kartel changed his lyric to say "Any man bounce the turntable, push dem hood ina toilet". The crowd got more and more bored, Lisa was a waste of air space she really needs to get back to the drawing board.
Empire were only on stage for like 30 mins but by the time they left the stage most the patrons had left (it was that bad). The patrons that were left after complained non stop "Kartel let we dung star" with one yout even saying " We need fi rename Sailant Israel, cause him boom dung Gaza".
There you have it folks Assailant '1' Empire 'Nill'..... REMATCH ANYONE???
ME DAT!!!"
Please forward a video if you have one of find one.
Aubrey Berry was charged Wednesday (May 20) afternoon.
The man who allegedly shot and killed up-and-coming rapper Dolla has been charged with three crimes -- two counts of assault with a firearm and one count of murder. 23-year-old Aubrey Berry -- who allegedly killed Dolla at a shopping mall in Los Angeles on Monday -- is set to be arraigned this afternoon. He's being held on $1,000,000 bail. (TMZ)
Berry was arrested shortly after the fatal shooting earlier this week.
A Georgia man has been arrested for investigation of murder in the fatal shooting of Dolla. Los Angeles police said in a statement Tuesday that 23 year-old Aubrey Louis Berry of Georgia was arrested at Los Angeles International Airport with a gun on Monday night. His bail was set at $1 million. (Fox News)
His lawyer has said Berry acted in self-defense.
The attorney for an Atlanta man accused of killing rapper Dolla earlier this week said his client opened fire after feeling threatened by the rapper and his entourage during a chance encounter in the restroom of a Beverly Center restaurant. "This is not a murder case," said Berry's attorney, Howard R. Price. "At worst it's a manslaughter case, at best it's a case of self defense," he said. (Los Angeles Times)
While the prime suspect has been charged, more individuals may also be involved.
Dolla's publicist Sue Vannasing said the rapper was involved in an altercation before the shooting with an unidentified man and woman who followed him to the mall. Police recovered a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun and turned the man over to Los Angeles police. Los Angeles Police spokeswoman Karen Rayner said two other persons of interest one male, one female who were with Berry at the airport were being questioned but neither has been charged in connection with the shooting. They were detained before attempting to board a plane out of Los Angeles International Airport, about 10 miles away from the Beverly Center. (Atlanta-Journal Constitution)
The unexpected death has stirred reactions from artists such as Jae Millz and hip-hop mogul Diddy.
The boxing gloves are on for this Emancipation weekend, as the competition for the hottest parties to take over Negril gets heated with the newly formed Negril Weekend testing its mettle against veterans Appleton and Absolute who have reunited for Absolute Entertainment ATI.
In April the newly formed Dream team organisers of the Negril Dream Weekend announced the formation of the new party series that saw signature events from RTI and ATI weekends joining forces.
Persons who were left wondering what would happen to other parties in the RTI/ATI catalogue now have their answer, as Appleton and Absolute Entertainment, originators of the Negril weekend party series, have reunited. The two started the ATI weekend back in 2001 and separated in 2006, each staging separate party series in Negril, but according to Alex Chin of Absolute Entertainment, Appleton has signed on to sponsor Absolute Temptation Isle and it "feels good."
Not only is ATI on for Emancipation weekend, but the series is also extended from three to four days, August 5 to August 9. Chin told The STAR, "because Thursday is the holiday, we decided to start from the Wednesday with a welcome party in the night which is a new event."
ATI weekend includes Hip Hop Jouvert, Tempted (Delano's Birthday Bash), Pretty in Pink, Rhythm and Booze, Temptation Live Part 1, Stages, Colours, Temptation Live Part 2, Wildsides, Fusion and a new event, The Toga Party. With eleven parties in the series, there will be three to four parties a day for patrons to choose from or to attend all.
On the other hand, the Negril Dream Weekend will consist of parties like, 'Daydreams' the ultimate daytime beach party , 'Twisted Spirits' the 32 mixed drinks inclusive event, 'Xtreme Wet and Wild' at the Khool Runnings Waterpark, 'Yush' Negril's true '90s throwback party, and 'The Concert' which features International and local artistes and celebrities.
ATI doesn't begin in Negril, as the promoters plan to hold islandwide events as a precursor to the party series. Extatic Fridays held each week at Cuddyz in New Kingston, will host a pre-ATI event, and there will also be pre-ATI events held in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Mandeville, and weekly pre-ATI parties at various night-clubs in Kingston - all of which will be announced at the official launch in June.
For Chin, the reunited Appleton and Absolute Temptation Isle, represent the best package for Negril weekend. "We are the original weekend so it's back to the original which represented good entertainment," Chin said.
We note that while Sumfest has named a host of local-based acts for its line-up, the organisers are yet to unveil the roster of overseas acts for the festival which is scheduled for July 19 to 25 in Montego Bay.
Earlier, a few names had been thrown about as possible stars for the Sumfest stage, but what is more to the point is who do people really want to spend their money to see. Names like Soulja Boy, Jennifer Hudson, Toni Braxton and Jazmin Sullivan have been put out there, but nothing has been confirmed by the organisers.
We eliminated Rapper TI, since he's gone to prison and then three's Kanye West, but at what price? (Incidentally, Kanye already did the Sumfest sojourn, and so too have other international acts including Mary J Blige, Destiny's Child, Alicia Keys, Ludacris, Lionel Richie, Missy Elliott, 50 Cent & G-Unit, Jay-Z, Akon, Ja Rule, Fantasia Barino, Rihanna, Ashanti, Snoop Dogg, Boyz II Men, K-Ci & JoJo, Dru Hill, Wyclef Jean, Joe, Blu Cantrell, the Temptations, and LL Cool J.)
It will be interesting to see who Summerfest Productions will bring to Montego Bay for International Nights I and II. Among the local-based contingent are Beenie Man, Bounty Killer, Elephant Man, Mavado, Tarrus Riley, Etana and Morgan Heritage.
Eminem will add his star power to the 9th Annual BET Awards, Rap-Up.com has exclusively learned.
The controversial rapper will grace the awards stage for the second time, insiders tell Rap-Up.com. Eminem appeared as Busta Rhymes surprise guest during his Touch It (Remix) performance in 2006. An official announcement could come as soon as tomorrow when Em stops by 106 & Park.
Before he heads to the BET Awards, Slim Shady will go live at the MTV Movie Awards in Universal City, Calif., on May 31.
Kanye West, Beyoncé, Soulja Boy Tellem, Ne-Yo, and Maxwell have been announced as performers for the BET Awards 2009. Jamie Foxx will host the show, which airs live from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles on Sunday, June 28, at 8 p.m. EST/PST.
Head of the Salvation Army's eastern division, Major Kervin Harry, says the year 2009 will be one of the army's "gravest", due to the sharp decline in the donations it so greatly depends upon to fund its work.
Harry was speaking to The Gleaner in relation to the work and state of the Salvation Army's eastern division, on the eve of the army's week of celebrations. This week, May 18-23, is being celebrated as Salvation Army Week.
Even as the army celebrates the strides it has made, Harry says there are currently great funding constraints on the organisation to maintain its programmes and to expand.
"We are living in difficult times. The army's programmes are chiefly dependent upon donations and pledges, and because of the global economic downturn we have been affected," said Harry.
One particular effect of the decline in contributions has been the inability of the Salvation Army to implement programmes it has developed to benefit the nation's poorest, and most unskilled.
"Right now, we cannot move into any new programmes because of our budget constraints. One of the areas we have on the drawing board right now is the concentration of development within the inner city," Harry went on to explain.
Plans for skill-training centres
The Salvation Army has already drawn up plans to develop learning resource and skill-training centres in neglected inner-city communities like Jones Town, Allman Town and Rae Town.
The development of these centres is a goal, Harry explained, which would help the Salvation Army to ensure the impact it has on communities is long-lasting.
"We don't want to be spoon-feeding people with food. We want to teach them how to fish so that they can help themselves. Feeding programmes and those kinds of social services are short term - they don't really help in the long term," Harry argued.
The plans have been sidelined, however, and are now awaiting the support of corporate sponsorship to come alive.
The Salvation Army, through the wide range of social services it provides across the nation, is viewed as one of the nation's critical non-governmental organisations. The organisation's eastern division currently operates three children's homes, the Francis Ham Senior Citizens' Residence for the Indigent, the Rae Town Medical Clinic and several street people feeding programmes, and a number of other social services.
After topping every chart locally in 2008, and then getting an international boost by the dancing dynamics of World and Olympic triple record holder at last year's Olympics in China, Elephant Man's Nuh Linga seems just about ready to do more fancy footworks.
The single was put in rotation on New York's heavyweight station, Hot 97, two months ago and now Nuh Linga has danced its way into the Billboard Chart.
The song made its debut at number 100 on the Billboard R&B Hip Hop Singles & Tracks chart at the end of April and now sits at number 84, moving up
16 places.
"Nuh Linga is just a dynamic song . it tek the place and fans just love the dance move. Father Elephant strikes again. Mucho mucho caliente!" the flambouyant Elephant
Man declared.
Elephant Man is no stranger to the Billboard charts. He has already charted with titles including Shake that Body featuring PI, Signal the Plane, Jook Gal (Wine Wine), Pon Di River Pon Di Bank, Father Elephant and Don't Stop with Janet Jackson.
The deejay received the ultimate stamp of approval from the music industry last year when he was nominated for a Grammy award for his Bad Boy/VP Records album Let's Get Physical. The 'Energy God', as he is popularly known, was nominated for the first time and while he didn't receive the award, the nomination was an excellent image booster.
Elephant Man, who is one of the performers on this year's Reggae Sumfest, is also scheduled to perform at Best of the Best showcase on Sunday at Miami's Bicentennial Park. Produced by JBJ Entertainment, this year's roster showcases artistes who are at the top of their game, in their respective genres, in Caribbean and urban music.

Independent Hip-Hop label Slip-N-Slide has announced their signing of former Grammy winners and R&B chart-toppers Jagged Edge.
The four-man group was one of the more popular groups of the late 90s and early 2000s, dropping three gold (A Jagged Era, Hard, Jagged Edge) and two platinum albums (J.E. Heartbreak, Jagged Little Thrill) in a nine year span.
Now off of Island Def Jam, Slip-N-Slide president Ted Lucas is confident the group will regain their former status, and disclosed the collective is already at work on their seventh studio album.
Im excited to welcome Jagged Edge to the Slip-N-Slide Records family, Lucas told AllHipHop.com. They are one of the preeminent R&B groups of our time. They are going to pick up right where they left off and bring their fans some great new hit songs.
The signing will allow Jagged Edge to retain their 581 Muzik label, which was utilized in creating the groups last album, 2007s Baby Makin Project.
As the first big name R&B group to sign to the label, longtime fans may be skeptical of Slip-N-Slides ability to properly promote Jagged Edge.
Twin brothers and Jagged members Brian and Brandon Casey do not share that concern, and declared that fans can expect them to launch a new era in R&B music next year.
We are happy to embark on our collaboration between 581 Muzik Group and Slip-N-Slide Records, brothers explained in a statement to AllHipHop.com. They have been a dominating force in rap music and we have been a driving force in R&B Music. Together Ted Lucas and Jagged Edge will make for a groundbreaking 2010! Look out for our new album in 2010.
At press time, Jagged Edges forthcoming Slip-N-Slide debut does not have a tentative release date or title.
