Internationally acclaimed Dancehall entertainer, Adidja Vybz Kartel Palmer was denied bail when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrates Court to answer to a ganja possession charge.
Kartel was present in the RM court on Tuesday morning when he was told of the judgment by Senior Magistrate Judith Pusey, who denied a bail application filed by the deejays attorney, Michael Deans. Senior Magistrate Pusey order Kartel to return to court November 10th when the case will be mentioned once more.
Meanwhile, the self-proclaimed Dancehall Hero is due in court later this week to answer to charges of murder, conspiracy to murder and illegal possession of a firearm in relation to the shooting death of a St. Catherine based businessman/promoter this past July. Kartel and a group of men allegedly plotted to kill 27 year old Barrington Bossie Burton, who was murdered when standing alongside Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park, St. Catherine.
According to police investigating the matter, witnesses in Kartels murder case have given conflicting statements to the Office of the Public Defender. The Jamaica Gleaner reports that police sources have intimated that information gathered in the Gaza sections of Waterford, St. Catherine discovered threats and other acts of intimidation; causing witnesses to change their stories in fear of their lives.
Additionally, its reported that members of the St. Catherine South police rounded up all known members of the Gaza gang after its alleged that gunmen staged an attack in the area of the murders occurrence during the morning of the investigation parade. People have been scurrying for their lives, not into hiding but to public legal offices, as a way of getting out of the case, sources claimed.
The charges slapped on Vybz Kartel were announced on October 3rd; three days after he was arrested at a small New Kingston Hotel where members of the Flying Squad discovered a small quantity of ganja.
The dancehall community is in shock today after Jamaican police charged ace deejay Vybz Kartel with murder and illegal possession of firearm.
The Portmore Empire boss was arrested in Kingston last Friday and undergo questioning with his lawyers before the charges was laid against him.
Several celebrities and fans have since been weighing in on the developing on Twitter and Facebook.

Artiste denies being managed by Shocking Vibes
A week after the arrest of Gaza strong man Adidja Vybz Kartel Palmer, rumours have already begun to surface in the music fraternity that the Gaza prefect Popcaan, has signed to Shocking Vibes. However, the dancehall artiste denies such allegations.
"I work with Young Vibes Records Jamie Roberts, that is Patrick Roberts son, but my management remains the same with Portmore Empire," he said.
According to Popcaan, since the arrest of Vybz Kartel he has been conducting business through Patrick Roberts of Shocking Vibes, but its not a contract agreement.
"Patrick Roberts naah manage mi, a mi fren dem but a nuh no management ting, a Gaza mi sey," he said.
The artiste says that Patrick Roberts will and can take phone calls on his behalf for bookings, but Gaza fans must not be quick to be judgmental.
"I want the people to know this, dont get it twisted, I am not managed by Shocking Vibes, yu know seh Teacha nuh deh a road, and business still haffi gwaan but mi nuh lef Gaza, those are just silly rumours," he said.
According to Popcaan, his management and label remain the same despite the absence of Vybz Kartel.
"Memba a me sey Gaza forever and mi nuh have nuh further comment," he concluded.
THE STAR tried to contact Patrick Roberts for comment but both of his cellphones rang without answer.

When Steve Jobs resigned from Apple in August, 7,000 miles away in Hong Kong, graphic design student Jonathan Mak Long, "shocked" by the CEO's departure, did what he knew best: He created a design to honor the Apple co-founder.
The 19-year-old posted the image, the Apple logo with the bite changed to a profile of Jobs, to hisTumblr blog. Known as Jonathan Mak, he initially received about 80 notes on the image. Then word came this past Wednesday that Jobs had died, after a long battle with cancer. Mak reposted the homage, which this time caught fire on the Web, attracting an almost immediate response of 10,000 likes and reblogs on his Tumblr site and surging to 180,000 -- in one day. Comments included "awesome invention like steve jobs." One thought it should be the "new Apple logo." Another wanted to "use it as a tattoo."
Speaking in fluent English (which he said he learned from watching the TV show "Friends"), thePolytechnic University School of Design student told Yahoo! in a Skype interview that the image was a tribute to Jobs's contributions to the world: "I wanted to commemorate him. He's such an integral part of Apple. I thought it would be fitting to include him in the Apple logo." Long added, "With Jobs gone, Apple is literally missing a piece."
The artist was inspired by the uncompromising personality of the creative genius. He said of Jobs: "He had this vision that he was not afraid to commit to. That's how he broke new ground. His commitment and belief in himself is what inspire me." The designer's vision for his own work is an aesthetic that joins a simple graphic element with a richer meaning, giving the viewer, as he put it, an "a-ha moment."
The cyber tribute that became a hit, and along with attracting media attention, the logo found itself as the preferred profile pic on Ashton Kutcher's Twitter account and on merchandise featured on eBay. While the design prodigy has received several job offers, but he hasn't acted on them; "I'm still a student," he said. The artist has a portfolio of minimalist design, but don't call him an Apple fanboy. "I just got my first MacBook Pro a year ago," he admitted -- and he still doesn't own an iPhone.
Asked whether he'd gotten any response from Apple, Mak said he had emailed CEO Tim Cook but so far hadn't heard back.

Rumors speculated last week that Jamaicas Dancehall artist Popcaan left the Portmore Empire. RRR Music now understands that the rumor has panned out to be true. This has been a crazy week for the Gaza Camp, first Vybz Kartel business manager Cory Todd the Jah Vinci and now Popcaan.
Last year Black Ryno was the first to leave and then shortly followed was Lisa Hype. This is going to be a serious blow to Vybz Kartel empire that he worked very hard to build. Popcaan Vybz second hand man was taken under the wing of Vybz 2 years ago has now decided to be a free agent. Popcaan always referred to Vybz as the father he never had!
This is a huge blow to the Dancehall industry and things are now up in the air. Majority of Dancehall music in the past 2 years was all from Vybz Kartel and his Gaza Empire. With another artist out might make the empire crumble.
Vybz Kartel is said to have controlled the camp like a puppet to a stringand was also known to hold back the talent of these artist. The questions are flying around like what will happen to Popcaan? Would he end up like Ryno, another talented DJ that was left out to dry? Will Shawn Storm be the next one to go?

The visionary founder of the tech giant Apple has died.

(CNN) -- Steve Jobs, the visionary in the black turtleneck who co-founded Apple in a Silicon Valley garage, built it into the world's leading tech company and led a mobile-computing revolution with wildly popular devices such as the iPhone, died Wednesday. He was 56.
The hard-driving executive pioneered the concept of the personal computer and of navigating them by clicking onscreen images with a mouse. In more recent years, he introduced the iPod portable music player, the iPhone and the iPad tablet -- all of which changed how we consume content in the digital age.
His friends and Apple fans on Wednesday night mourned the passing of a tech titan.
"Steve's brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives," Apple said in a statement. "The world is immeasurably better because of Steve."
More than one pundit, praising Jobs' ability to transform entire industries with his inventions, called him a modern-day Leonardo Da Vinci.
"Steve Jobs is one of the great innovators in the history of modern capitalism," New York Times columnist Joe Nocera said in August. "His intuition has been phenomenal over the years."
View a time line of Steve Jobs' work
Jobs' death, while dreaded by Apple's legions of fans, was not unexpected. He had battled cancer for years, took a medical leave from Apple in January and stepped down as chief executive in August because he could "no longer meet (his) duties and expectations."
Born February 24, 1955, and then adopted, Jobs grew up in Cupertino, California -- which would become home to Apple's headquarters -- and showed an early interest in electronics. As a teenager, he phoned William Hewlett, president of Hewlett-Packard, to request parts for a school project. He got them, along with an offer of a summer job at HP.
Jobs dropped out of Oregon's Reed College after one semester, although he returned to audit a class in calligraphy, which he says influenced Apple's graceful, minimalist aesthetic. He quit one of his first jobs, designing video games for Atari, to backpack across India and take psychedelic drugs. Those experiences, Jobs said later, shaped his creative vision.
"You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future," he told Stanford University graduates during a commencement speech in 2005. "You have to trust in something: your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever. This approach has never let me down, and it has made all the difference in my life."
While at HP, Jobs befriended Steve Wozniak, who impressed him with his skill at assembling electronic components. The two later joined a Silicon Valley computer hobbyists club, and when he was 21, Jobs teamed with Wozniak and two other men to launch Apple Computer Inc.
It's long been Silicon Valley legend: Jobs and Wozniak built their first commercial product, the Apple 1, in Jobs' parents' garage in 1976. Jobs sold his Volkswagen van to help finance the venture. The primitive computer, priced at $666.66, had no keyboard or display, and customers had to assemble it themselves.
The following year, Apple unveiled the Apple II computer at the inaugural West Coast Computer Faire. The machine was a hit, and the personal computing revolution was under way.
Jobs was among the first computer engineers to recognize the appeal of the mouse and the graphical interface, which let users operate computers by clicking on images instead of writing text.
Apple's pioneering Macintosh computer launched in early 1984 with a now-iconic, Orwellian-themed Super Bowl ad. The boxy beige Macintosh sold well, but the demanding Jobs clashed frequently with colleagues, and in 1986, he was ousted from Apple after a power struggle.
Then came a 10-year hiatus during which he founded NeXT Computer, whose pricey, cube-shaped computer workstations never caught on with consumers.
Jobs had more success when he bought Pixar Animation Studios from George Lucas before the company made it big with "Toy Story." Jobs brought the same marketing skill to Pixar that he became known for at Apple. His brief but emotional pitch for "Finding Nemo," for example, was a masterful bit of succinct storytelling.
Share your memories and images of Steve Jobs
In 1996, Apple bought NeXT, returning Jobs to the then-struggling company he had co-founded. Within a year, he was running Apple again -- older and perhaps wiser but no less of a perfectionist. And in 2001, he took the stage to introduce the original iPod, the little white device that transformed portable music and kick-started Apple's furious comeback.
Thus began one of the most remarkable second acts in the history of business. Over the next decade, Jobs wowed launch-event audiences, and consumers, with one game-changing hit after another: iTunes (2003), the iPhone (2007), the App Store (2008), and the iPad (2010).
Observers marveled at Jobs' skills as a pitchman, his ability to inspire godlike devotion among Apple "fanboys" (and scorn from PC fans) and his "one more thing" surprise announcements. Time after time, he sold people on a product they didn't know they needed until he invented it. And all this on an official annual salary of $1.
He also built a reputation as a hard-driving, mercurial and sometimes difficult boss who oversaw almost every detail of Apple's products and rejected prototypes that didn't meet his exacting standards.
By the late 2000s, his once-renegade tech company, the David to Microsoft's Goliath, was entrenched at the uppermost tier of American business. Apple now operates more than 300 retail stores in 11 countries. The company has sold more than 275 million iPods, 100 million iPhones and 25 million iPads worldwide.
Jobs' climb to the top was complete in summer 2011, when Apple listed more cash reserves than the U.S. Treasury and even briefly surpassed Exxon Mobil as the world's most valuable company.
But Jobs' health problems sometimes cast a shadow over his company's success. In 2004, he announced to his employees that he was being treated for pancreatic cancer. He lost weight and appeared unusually gaunt at keynote speeches to Apple developers, spurring concerns about his health and fluctuations in the company's stock price. One wire service accidentally published Jobs' obituary.
Jobs had a secret liver transplant in 2009 in Tennessee during a six-month medical leave of absence from Apple. He took another medical leave in January this year. Perhaps mindful of his legacy, he cooperated on his first authorized biography, scheduled to be published by Simon & Schuster in November.
Jobs is survived by his wife of 20 years, Laurene, and four children, including one from a prior relationship.
He always spoke with immense pride about what he and his engineers accomplished at Apple.
"Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work. And the only way to do great work is to love what you do," he told the Stanford grads in 2005.
"If you haven't found it yet, keep looking. Don't settle. As with all matters of the heart, you'll know when you find it. And, like any great relationship, it just gets better and better as the years roll on."
