KOLO  TOURE was last night clobbered with a record Ł720,000 fine by Manchester City.

SunSport revealed last week the defender faced being docked up to six weeks' wages following a club probe into his six-month drugs ban.

And City chose a hardline approach by imposing the maximum penalty after finding their former skipper guilty of gross misconduct.

Toure, 30, accepted the fine and indicated he now wants to get on with his career.

And City insist there is no possibility of the PFA intervening - like they did by halving Carlos Tevez's fine last month.

A club statement said: "Following the conclusion of an internal disciplinary process, Manchester City can confirm that Kolo Toure has received a fine of six weeks' wages.

"This relates to doping offences committed by him earlier this year.

"Kolo accepts the decision and he and the club now wish to draw a line under this matter and focus on the season ahead."

PFA chairman Gordon Taylor had questioned the timing of the disciplinary process given that Toure's ban ended back in early September.

However, the hearing twice had to be postponed due to key figures being unable to attend.

Toure tested positive in early March and later admitted taking one of his wife's slimming pills.

But City continued to pay his Ł120,000-a-week wages - a total of more than Ł3million - while he was banned.

The Ivory Coast star has made five appearances since ending his ban but is now behind skipper Vincent Kompany, Joleon Lescott and new boy Stefan Savic in the Etihad pecking order.

A British teen was arrested at Miami International Airport after authorities say they found 30 pounds of cocaine stuffed into 24 boxes of cake mix in her suitcase. Ayesha Olivia Niles, who turned 18 three days after she was arrested on Oct. 21, faces charges of trafficking cocaine and importation of a controlled substance, according to the Miami Herald. She was being held in Miami's juvenile detention center but will likely be charged as an adult, prosecutors said. The London teen had arrived in Miami on a flight from Jamaica. Federal customs agents made the discovery after her bags were selected for screening."

In Florida, drug-traffickers can get sentenced to life in jail, which means a minimum tariff of 15 years.

Niles, a student from London, told police she did not know what she was carrying but suspected she was involved in illegal activity.

Police said the teen, who is from London, was picked for screening by customs agents.

As they searched her two suitcases they found the class A drug hidden in the boxes of cake mix.

It is not known if Niles was planning to continue with the drugs back to London are drop them off in Florida.

A police source said: 'She is a classic drug mule who thought she could easily bring the drugs through an airport undetected.'

Prosecutors said Niles was a 'poster child' for how easily drug smugglers can corrupt young people.

'This young woman had her 18th birthday in a foreign jail, far from her home and her family, because she thought she could smuggle almost 30 pounds of cocaine through Miami,' said Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle.

'Sadly, she almost becomes a poster child for how easily the drug trade can corrupt our youth.'

Arrest: Customs agents found the Class A drug hidden inside cake mix boxes after she had got off a flight from Jamaica

Miami-Dade Police Major Charles Nanney said it was rare to find people transporting such a large amount of drugs at the airport, especially a young girl.

He said she was chosen to be searched due to enhanced security screening at the airport, one of Amercas busiest and gateway to the Caribbean islands.

Niles faces charges of trafficking cocaine and importation of a controlled substance.

She was arrested on October 21 and has been held at juvenile detention centre.

Portmore Empire artiste Gaza Slim, aka Vanessa Bling, has reported to the St Andrew North police that she was recently robbed and gunbutted by a man who claimed to be Clive Williams, the deceased man that Vybz Kartel has been accused of murdering.

Williams, otherwise called 'Lizard', was reportedly murdered on August 16. Since then, Vybz Kartel and several other persons were charged with murder.

However, Vanessa Bling has reported to the police that on October 29, about 8 p.m., as she was walking along Coolshade Drive in Havendale when she was pounced upon by a man.

THE STARunderstands that she has told the police that the man, Williams, robbed her of her BlackBerry phone and jewellery.

It was also reported that she was hit in the face with a gun. The man then reportedly drove off in a Nissan motor car.

Several attempts by THE STARto contact Vanessa Bling up to press time proved futile as calls to her mobile phone went unanswered.

Williams was reportedly killed after he was taken to a house in Havendale where he was beaten and stabbed to death over the loss of an illegal gun.

His body has not been found.

Last Thursday, it was revealed in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court that the police have video evidence implicating Kartel and others in William's murder. They are to return to court on December 2.

A 13-year-old is now in custody and a 17-year-old is being sought by cops following the seizure of an illegal firearm at the Trench Town High School in west Kingston earlier today.

Reports from the Trench Town Police are that about 1:15 pm a School Resource Officer attached to the Divisions Community Safety and Security Branch conducted a search at the school. The search yielded a 9 mm Taurus pistol bearing serial number TWH00672, and a magazine with 15 rounds.

The identities of the teenagers are being withheld pending further investigations.

The lawyer who represented veteran entertainer Ninja Man is claiming shes the new legal representation for jailed deejay Vybz Kartel.
According to Hannah Barrington-Harris she has received two letters from the self-proclaimed World Boss authorizing her to be his attorney.
So does this mean the Finsons are off the case? Well, when Music News contacted Christian Tavares-Finson who is a member of Vybz Kartels legal team of prominent attorneys this is what he had to say.
At the deejays last court appearance, the prosecution told the court that they have video evidence and evidence from telephone communications.
Vybz Kartel and his Portmore Empire member Shawn Storm along with his fashion designer Calvin Moonie Haye and another man were charged with the August 16 murder of Clive Williams in Havendale, St Andrew. Police say the man known as Lizard was stabbed and shot to death over a missing illegal firearm.
The men are to return to court on December 2.
Vybz Kartel is also charged with the murder of Barrington 'Bossie' Burton. His bail application regarding that matter was rejected.

PHILADELPHIA, USA (AP) - Joe Frazier had to throw his greatest punch to knock down "The Greatest".

A vicious left hook from Frazier put Muhammad Ali on the canvas in the 15th round in March 1971 when he became the first man to beat him in the Fight of the Century at Madison Square Garden.

"That was the greatest thing that ever happened in my life," Frazier said.

It was his biggest night, one that would never come again.

The relentless, undersized heavyweight ruled the division as champion, then spent a lifetime trying to fight his way out of Ali's shadow.

Frazier, who died last night after a brief battle with liver cancer at the age of 67, will forever be associated with Ali. No one in boxing would ever dream of anointing Ali as The Greatest unless he, too, was linked to Smokin' Joe.

"I will always remember Joe with respect and admiration," Ali said in a statement. "My sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones."

They fought three times, twice in the heart of New York City and once in the morning in a steamy arena in the Thrilla in Manila in the Philippines. They went 41 rounds together. Neither gave an inch and both gave it their all.

In their last fight in Manila in 1975, they traded punches with a fervour that seemed unimaginable among heavyweights. Frazier gave almost as good as he got for 14 rounds, then had to be held back by trainer Eddie Futch as he tried to go out for the final round, unable to see.

"Closest thing to dying that I know of," Ali said afterward.

Ali was as merciless with Frazier out of the ring as he was inside it. He called him a gorilla, and mocked him as an Uncle Tom. But he respected him as a fighter, especially after Frazier won a decision to defend his heavyweight title against the then-unbeaten Ali in a fight that was so big Frank Sinatra was shooting pictures at ringside and both fighters earned an astonishing $2.5 million.

The night at the Garden 40 years ago remained fresh in Frazier's mind as he talked about his life, career and relationship with Ali a few months before he died.

"I can't go nowhere where it's not mentioned," he told The Associated Press.

Bob Arum, who once promoted Ali, said he was saddened by Frazier's passing.

"He was such an inspirational guy. A decent guy. A man of his word," Arum said. "I'm torn up by Joe dying at this relatively young age. I can't say enough about Joe."

Frazier's death was announced in a statement by his family, who asked to be able to grieve privately and said they would announce "our father's homecoming celebration" as soon as possible.

Manny Pacquiao learned of it shortly after he arrived in Las Vegas for his fight Saturday night with Juan Manuel Marquez. Like Frazier in his prime, Pacquiao has a powerful left hook that he has used in his remarkable run to stardom.

"Boxing lost a great champion, and the sport lost a great ambassador," Pacquiao said.

Don King, who promoted the Thrilla in Manila, was described by a spokesman as too upset to talk about Frazier's death.

Though slowed in his later years and his speech slurred by the toll of punches taken in the ring, Frazier was still active on the autograph circuit in the months before he died. In September he went to Las Vegas, where he signed autographs in the lobby of the MGM Grand shortly before Floyd Mayweather Jr's fight against Victor Ortiz.

An old friend, Gene Kilroy, visited with him and watched Frazier work the crowd.

"He was so nice to everybody," Kilroy said. "He would say to each of them, 'Joe Frazier, sharp as a razor, what's your name?'"

Frazier was small for a heavyweight, weighing just 205 pounds when he won the title by stopping Jimmy Ellis in the fifth round of their 1970 fight at Madison Square Garden. But he fought every minute of every round going forward behind a vicious left hook, and there were few fighters who could withstand his constant pressure.

His reign as heavyweight champion lasted only four fights including the win over Ali - before he ran into an even more fearsome slugger than himself. George Foreman responded to Frazier's constant attack by dropping him three times in the first round and three more in the second before their 1973 fight in Jamaica was waved to a close and the world had a new heavyweight champion.

Two fights later, he met Ali in a rematch of their first fight, only this time the outcome was different. Ali won a 12-round decision, and later that year stopped George Foreman in the Rumble in the Jungle in Zaire.

There had to be a third fight, though, and what a fight it was. With Ali's heavyweight title at stake, the two met in Manila in a fight that will long be seared in boxing history.

Frazier went after Ali round after round, landing his left hook with regularity as he made Ali backpedal around the ring. But Ali responded with left jabs and right hands that found their mark again and again. Even the intense heat inside the arena couldn't stop the two as they fought every minute of every round with neither willing to concede the other one second of the round.

"They told me Joe Frazier was through," Ali told Frazier at one point during the fight.

"They lied," Frazier said, before hitting Ali with a left hook.

It was one of the greatest fights ever, but it took a toll. Frazier would fight only two more times, getting knocked out in a rematch with Foreman eight months later before coming back in 1981 for an ill advised fight with Jumbo Cummings.

"They should have both retired after the Manila fight," former AP boxing writer Ed Schuyler Jr said. "They left every bit of talent they had in the ring that day."

Born in Beaufort, SC, on January 12, 1944, Frazier took up boxing early after watching weekly fights on the black and white television on his family's small farm. He was a top amateur for several years, and became the only American fighter to win a gold medal in the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo despite fighting in the final bout with an injured left thumb.

"Joe Frazier should be remembered as one of the greatest fighters of all time and a real man," Arum told the AP in a telephone interview last night. "He's a guy that stood up for himself. He didn't compromise and always gave 100 percent in the ring. There was never a fight in the ring where Joe didn't give 100 per cent."

After turning pro in 1965, Frazier quickly became known for his punching power, stopping his first 11 opponents. Within three years he was fighting world-class opposition and, in 1970, beat Ellis to win the heavyweight title that he would hold for more than two years.

A woman who answered Ellis' phone in Kentucky said the former champion suffers from Alzheimer's disease, but she wanted to pass along the family's condolences.

At twenty-five years old Usain is among elite of young people who have achieved a doctorate degree. Take that alone it would not seem like such a great achievement. However we are talking about the fastest man on earth.

Thus this award is just another accolade in the many achievements that Usain has received in his short life. Thus he is truly on his way to becoming a legend; something he has publicly stated he wanted to become.

On Friday, November 4, 2011, the University of the West Indies, Mona officially bestowed the title of doctorate onto him for his achievements in athletics and more importantly because he is a member of the Racers Track Club, which trains on the University campus.

Michael Jackson's personal physician, Dr Conrad Murray, has been found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of the star by a jury in Los Angeles.

A panel of seven men and five women took two days of deliberation to reach a verdict.

Michael Jackson died on 25 June 2009 from an overdose of the powerful anaesthetic propofol.

Murray, 58, could now receive a maximum prison term of four years and lose his licence to practise medicine.

There was a shriek in the courtroom as the verdict was read.

Outside the courthouse, the BBC's Peter Bowes said that at the moment the verdict was read, the crowd along the street erupted with cheers and chanting.

Jackson's family sat in the courtroom, weeping quietly.

LaToya Jackson told the Associated Press news agency the family was overjoyed at the verdict.

"Michael was looking over us," she said.

During the trial, Dr Murray's lawyers argued that Jackson self-administered a lethal dose of the drug while he was out of the room.

Dr Murray was remanded in custody without bail until he receives his sentence, set for 29 November.

Explaining his decision, the judge said Dr Murray was now a convicted felon and had considerable ties outside the state of California, meaning he could not guarantee that the doctor would remain in the state.

Dr Murray sat silently in court, shifting slightly in his seat as the verdict was read out.

Court officers began to handcuff the physician as the judge made his final announcements, before leading him away into custody.

'Drug addict'

Michael Jackson rehearsing for his comeback showJackson was rehearsing for a series of comeback concerts

The jury - made up of one African American, six whites and five Hispanics - deliberated on Friday and through the morning on Monday.

Outside the court, fans of Michael Jackson were cheering and chanting, "Guilty! Guilty!" in the run-up to the verdict being announced.

During the six-week trial, 49 witnesses and more than 300 pieces of evidence were presented to the court.

Michael Jackson, who had been out of the public eye for several years, died in 2009 as he was preparing for a series of comeback performances at the O2 arena in London.

In his closing argument last Thursday, the prosecution said Dr Murray had caused the star's death through negligence, depriving Jackson's children of their father and the world of a "genius".

The defence argued that Jackson was a drug addict who caused his own death by giving himself an extra dose of propofol while the cardiologist was out of the room at the star's rented mansion in Los Angeles.

However, lawyers for Dr Murray dropped a key argument midway through the trial - that the pop superstar had drank the propofol. But they continued to argue that Jackson had somehow dosed himself otherwise.

Each side of the trial called their own expert witness on the anaesthetic drug,

There is no law against administering propofol, but the prosecution's case rested on the argument that Dr Murray was grossly negligent by doing so outside a hospital setting and without the proper monitoring equipment.

In some of the more shocking moments of the trial, the jury heard a recording of Jackson, sounding incoherent and slurred, speaking about his upcoming concert series, as well as viewing a photo of a lifeless Jackson on a gurney.

A man allegedly attempting to rob a motorist of a gold chain was shot in the vicinity of Vale Royal. The motorist used his licensed fire arm to shoot the man as he attempted to escape by jumping into a nearby vehicle. He was shot on his left thigh. The incident occurred after 2:15pm and was first reported by OGNR. Police and soldiers, including the Commissioner of Police, cordoned off the area, which was less than 100 feet from official Prime Minister's residence. If you have details, post.

JAMAICAN PARTY GOERS MIGRATING UPTOWN?

November 7, 2011
Started By kizzle2 Comments

Originally in Jamaica we know that the best parties are held in the ghetto, or downtown or the inner cities or whatever one wishes to call it.  Traditionally, if one wanted to experience how true Jamaicans party, the best parties or dance as it is commonly referred to downtown, to attend were Dutty Fridaze, held in Fletchers Land, Passa Passa held in the middle of Spanish Town Road on Wednesdays or Ray Town and so on.

Action at Dutty Fridaze

These dances were the epitome of the Dancehall culture and how Jamaicans party.  Also, surprisingly, even people who are uptown would venture out to these parties to get the original Jamaican party culture.  However it is steadily becoming a thing of the past as, Ray Town has become obsolete, Passa Passa, had to be discontinued for reasons, which I will not discuss in this blog, as this is not the blog for that.  Also Dutty Fridaze has been a victim of police a tek set and has also been discontinued due to the police.

Joint Album?

drake_mavado_jamaica_artists.jpg

After working as well as performing together within the last year, prominent Dancehall singjay, Mavado and Canadian hip-hop superstar, Drake are set to put their chemistry to the ultimate test.

According to reports, the self-professed Gully Gaad and the Young Money rapper will soon be releasing a joint album; combining Dancehall and hip-hop styles. The collaborative album bares similarities to Distant Relatives, the joint effort by Reggae superstar, Damian Jr. Gong Marley and American hip-hop veteran, Nas that was released in May 2010.

A source within Mavados Gullyside camp revealed the news to Urban Islandz; intimating that the new album will be done through the conduit of DJ Khaleds label, We The Best Music Group.

Since Vado return to the States and sign with Khaled there are a number of collaboration requests coming in from several rappers, but definitely he is looking forward to drop a full length LP with Drake. Drizzy and Vado are close friends so its only natural, the source insisted. You can look for appearances from Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Khaled and Busta Rhymes to name a few, he continued.

Mavado recently hinted in an interview that hes had a desire to collaborate with Drakes mentor and internationally acclaimed hip-hop superstar, Lil Wayne. From a couple years ago Ive always wanted to do a mad record with (Lil) Wayne, Mavado said. That kid is crazy, trust me hes out of this world. Its gon happen in due time. We gon put some steroids to this game and turn it up, loud!

Meanwhile, Mavado is in Miami with Morgan Heritage relative and hip-hop star, Laza Morgan to shoot the music video for their popular hit single, One by One. The song earned #1 chart status in Jamaica and has been a regular on American airwaves since its initial release in March.

The following are 19 statistics about the poor that will absolutely astound you.

#1 According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the percentage of very poor rose in 300 out of the 360 largest metropolitan areas during 2010.

#2 Last year, 2.6 million more Americans descended into poverty.  That was the largest increase that we have seen since the U.S. government began keeping statistics on this back in 1959.

#3 It isnt just the ranks of the very poor that are rising.  The number of those just considered to be poor is rapidly increasing as well.  Back in the year 2000, 11.3% of all Americans were living in poverty.  Today, 15.1% of all Americans are living in poverty.

#4 The poverty rate for children living in the United States increased to 22% in 2010.

#5 There are 314 counties in the United States where at least 30% of the children are facing food insecurity.

#6 In Washington D.C., the child food insecurity rate is 32.3%.

#7 More than 20 million U.S. children rely on school meal programs to keep from going hungry.

#8 One out of every six elderly Americans now lives below the federal poverty line.

#9 Today, there are over 45 million Americans on food stamps.

#10 According to the Wall Street Journal, nearly 15 percent of all Americans are now on food stamps.

#11 In 2010, 42 percent of all single mothers in the United States were on food stamps.

#12 The number of Americans on food stamps has increased 74% since 2007.

#13 We are told that the economy is recovering, but the number of Americans on food stamps has grown by another 8 percent over the past year.

#14 Right now, one out of every four American children is on food stamps.

#15 It is being projected that approximately 50 percent of all U.S. children will be on food stamps at some point in their lives before they reach the age of 18.

#16 More than 50 million Americans are now on Medicaid.  Back in 1965, only one out of every 50 Americans was on Medicaid.  Today, approximately one out of every 6 Americans is on Medicaid.

#17 One out of every six Americans is now enrolled in at least onegovernment anti-poverty program.

#18 The number of Americans that are going to food pantries and soup kitchens has increased by 46% since 2006.

#19 It is estimated that up to half a million children may currently be homeless in the United States.

Sadly, we dont hear much about this on the nightly news, do we? Stupid channels like CNN, focus on children being beaten by their father and taking away their cars.

This is because the mainstream media is very tightly controlled.

I came across a beautiful illustration of this recently.  If you do not believe that the news in America is scripted, just watch this video starting at the 1:15 mark.  Conan OBrien does a beautiful job of demonstrating how news anchors all over the United States are often repeating the exact same words.

So dont rely on the mainstream media to tell you everything.

In this day and age, it is absolutely imperative that we all think for ourselves.

It is also absolutely imperative that we have compassion on our brothers and sisters.

Winter is coming up, and if you see someone that does not have a coat, dont be afraid to offer to give them one.

All over the United States (and all around the world), there are orphans that are desperately hurting.  As you celebrate the good things that you have during this time of the year, dont forget to remember them.

We should not expect that the government will take care of everyone that is hurting.

The reality is that millions of people fall through the safety net.

Being generous and being compassionate are qualities that all of us should have.

Yes, times are going to get harder and an economic collapse is coming.

That just means that we should be more generous and more compassionate than we have ever been before.

Juan Manuel Marquez. Victor Ortiz. Shane Mosley. Whether fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Manny Pacquiao, those have been entertaining fights that have done big business. But the one boxing match every fan has wanted to see the last three-plus years only involves two men: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.

The historic fight that will indeed break pay-per-view and live gate records has been on the cusp of being booked the last couple of years, only to fall apart due to politics and both sides not agreeing on the drug testing procedures. UFC President Dana White has sided with Pacquiao in the past, citing that an athlete should not have to go through a specific drug test that is not directly from the state athletic commission.

Mayweather has come out and said Pacquiao is scared. Pacquiao has said Mayweather is scared. Now after Mayweather was allegedly targeting May 5, 2012 as the date of the (hopefully) eventual super fight, Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum comes out and says that the proposition is a joke and the fight is still far from happening. So much for that.....Pacquiao faces Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12. In sports, money usually talks. Hopefully, both sides will come to their senses and give boxing fans what they really want: a fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao.

Kim Kardashian filed for divorce Monday morning, after 72 days of not-so-wedded bliss to Kris Humphries  ... TMZ has learned, and now we have the documents.

We're told even though the marriage was short, she is not seeking an annulment. It's a garden variety divorce, in which Kim cites "irreconcilable differences."

The date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011.  According to the docs, Kim wants Kris to foot his own lawyers' fees and she'll pay hers.  And, she wants the court to reject any move by Kris to get spousal support.

And, the docs list the length of the marriage as a measly 2 months.

Kim has hired disso-queen Laura Wasser, who has repped the likes of Britney Spears, Maria Shriver, Angelina Jolie, Ryan Reynolds, and Robyn Gibson, Mel's almost ex-wife.

As we first reported, the couple has a prenuptial agreement ... Kim made sure of that.

Rumors of a split had been swirling for some time and the two were spotted out to dinner last week ... looking less than pleased with one another.

The couple was married on August 20 in a lavish ceremony (see below) in Montecito, CA. There are reports that the wedding cost as much as $10 mil, which means $138,888 for every day until today.

Investigators probing popular dancehall entertainer Vybz Kartel and members of his empire for a string of alleged murders say they have video evidence of the artiste and other men killing a man at a house in Havendale, St. Andrew.

The disclosure was made on Thursday morning when Vybz Kartel and three members of his empire network appeared before the Corporate Area Criminal Court.

The other accused are dancehall artiste Shawn Campbell otherwise called Shawn Storm; fashion designer Calvin Haye otherwise called Moonie and Kiera Jones.

The men are charged for the August 16 murder of Clive Williams otherwise called 'Lizard'.

Government prosecutors reported that Mr. Williams was taken to a house in Havendale on August 16 where he was beaten and stabbed to death over a missing gun.

Mr. Haye's attorney complained that he has not seen any statement linking his client to the case.

However, this was dismissed by the investigator who disclosed that they are putting together telephone evidence linking him to the crime.

In a surprise disclosure, the investigator told senior magistrate Judith Pusey that the police have video evidence and witness statements connecting the men to the murder.

It was alleged that the killing of the young man was captured on a phone which was later seized by the police.

Vybz Kartel and the other accused are to return to court on December 2 for a bail hearing.

So if you know anything about Dancehall you would know that we are now in the season for war.  Yeah I know, tis the season to be jolly, sha la la la la, but in Jamaica, it is time fi people dead.

Not literally of course, because we in no way support any form of violence against any person of group of persons.  So the war we refer to is a lyrical war, and the death is a lyrical death, of course.

So to all the people that crave this type of entertainment, just pause for a moment, and give some thanks to the man from Mars, Tony Mentally Ill Matterhorn, for, as we say in Jamaica, stirring up the ants nest with his Dancehall Duppy song where he implored the artists to stop throwing corns in the hog pen and just go in the hog pen and point out the hog.

So now we have a bag a people a war, this includes Matterhorn and almost the entire dancehall fraternity, because in the subsequent Dancehall Duppy songs, Matterhorn dash dutty wata pon Beenie Man and Bounty Killer, calling them old, also, him splash up, Khago, Twin of Twins and many others.  However, the main people he seems to be in contention with at the moment are the twins.

ZEBIDEE+PIC.jpg
Many people are not familiar with the name Zebidee, for one reason and one reason only; he refuses to continue singing gun tunes.
Like many other dancehall artists, Zebidee started out doing nothing but gun music. His fame quickly spread in the streets, which resulted in him being invited to perform at several functions, and stage shows in his hometown of St. Elizabeth. As word started to leak into neighboring parishes, Zebidee began to realize the impact his songs were having on the youths. It was then that he decided to stop creating music that glorifies violence and weapons and began singing both culture and love songs.
Shortly after he changed his rhetoric, the promoters and producers that were interested in him began to drift away and the momentum that was building around his name slowly faded. Having a tenacious spirit, Zebidee committed himself to both his career and his new style of writing, which would focus on, clean culture and love songs.
Zebidees story is by no means unique. There are quite a few artists who share similar experience. Unfortunately, many have surrendered to the negative trappings of the industry. Zebidee on the other hand has risen above it.

World-renowned and prominent Dancehall producer, Patrick Roach Samuels, teamed up with Justus JA to produce the highly-acclaimed, Overproof Riddim. Roach, whos been on the Dancehall scene for quite a while, broke through with the release of the Emergency Riddim in 2001. The first song produced on the Riddim was Vybz Kartel Call Di Ambulance, followed by songs from other Dancehall acts such as Bling Dawg, Ward 21 as well as an internationally-acclaimed single Breakout by Sean Paul.

The Overproof Riddim is one Dancehalls best Riddims at present with a host of top Dancehall acts such as Beenie Man, Mavado, Khago, Aidonia, Gyptian, Bounty Killer amongst others as well as international act, Daniel Bedingfield. Bedingfield, who brought an international flavour to the Overproof Riddim with his single Sometimes You Just Know is a British singer-songwriter. Additionally, hes the brother of pop singers, Natasha Bedingfield and Nikola Rachelle.

The Riddim has been in rotation on every radio station and locking down all the local charts with a variety of hit singles such as, Mavado, Settle Down, Khago, Tun Up Di Ting and Beenie Man, Lets Go, amongst others.

Furthermore, The Overproof Riddim has proven to be an all-rounded Dancehall Riddim; bringing to the forefront upcoming Dancehall acts, such as Navino. The young deejay is a member of the Jag One Production (J.O.P) camp, led by Sheldon Aidonia Laurence; getting his big break from the Overproof Riddim with his hit single Chilling Time. The J.O.P artist recently unveiled the video for Chilling Time single and in an OnStage interview expressed his style of music has been a singjay.

The hit Riddim is extensive, with approximate over 30 songs, including various hit singles. The latest single to be released on the Riddim is Einsteins Party Hard, which is another party song. Overproof possesses one of the longest track listings in Dancehall history, leaving Roach and his team to have a plethora of fans in the Dancehall arena wondering if recording on this production will ever stop. Given the large number of artistes that have already voiced the Riddim, many are left to wonder if Overproof has overdosed, provided such a vast array of singles.

Nevertheless, Roach is basking in the overwhelming success of the Overproof Riddim; explaining in an ER interview that the Riddim was a hit the first time he heard it. Roach further claimed that, Overproof a di Riddim weh ago run straight back to January.

The Overproof Riddim has proven to be one of the hottest Dancehall Riddims of 2011.

DAMION+%2526+HOWARD+HINDS.jpg
In a recent interview on Bess 100 fm, brothers, Damion and Howard Hinds announced their intentions to transform the Reggae/Dancehall industry for the better.
The brothers who hail from the Sea view Gardens community recently released their latest rhythm driven project, entitled Betta Way on their own DAve Productions label. Their reason for titling the project Betta Way is their belief that the Reggae/Dancehall industry is riddled with corruption and upcoming artists within the genre is in desperate need of a better way.
Some of the points raised by both men were; the length of time it takes for new artists to get a break in this industry. With rap and other genres every year you see new artists coming on the scene but with our industry you see a new artist get a break maybe every five years, states Damion Hinds. They went on to say that D Ave Production (Detroit Avenue Production) was conceptualized and manifested in May 2010, with the hopes of giving emerging talents that opportunity to get their big break. Most if not all their rhythms will feature young, upcoming artists as oppose to already established ones.
DAve Production has been having its challenges but the men are bent on attaining success for both themselves and the young artists of Jamaica.
Betta Way Riddim is a conscious nine-track album, which features artists such as Dexta Daps, Danny English, Tention, Karamanti and others. To listen to the Betta Way Riddim click on the following link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ELdtPct28Vg
Disc Jocks wanting all tracks on the album should contact Maria Jackson at mariajacksonent@gmail.com with all relevant information confirming their status as an active DJ.
karamanti+mix+vol+2+advertising+graphics.jpg
Female sing jay, Karamanti has decided to advance her career by ensuring that she has more of a public presence. She recently sent the following letter to her fans and supporters:
Greetings my friends, I just wanted to personally touch base to let you know that I have officially released Karamanti Mix Volume 2 the most underrated from then to now. This is 18 of my songs that I think reflects the fact that I am truly underrated as a lyricist in the reggae/dancehall industry. This is not a mix CD or anything, its all-individual tracks so DJs can download and have the music to spin. It features older stuff as well as a whole bunch of songs recorded and released this year. Here is the download link: http://www.mediafire.com/?6tx39zg10qs3xu8 Feel free to share this link with your mailing list.
Also wanted to let you know that I have reconnected with Triple Crown of Blessed Coast Sound out of Bellingham so this means an official mix CD is coming soon! Last year him and I got together and did the Transition mix CD and that was crazy so I am anticipating great things with this new project. Here is a link to download some songs recorded specifically for this project: http://www.mediafire.com/?sb2fbobq8rrviv2
Finally, as you may already know I run a full-blown PR company and that is the reason I have not been pushing my career as an artist. I am pleased to let you know that I have hired someone that I am confident can takeover and run the company so this will afford me the luxury of just being an artist. So all I can say is pay attention cause Im gonna turn it up now.
Thanks for all your continued support and be sure to link me on all my respective social sites. Here are the links:

DIGITAL+SHAM+IN+STUDIO.jpg
For the past few years the dancehall scene has been completely dominated by the likes of Vybz Kartel and Mavado. Almost all the rhythms going out had either one, or in some cases, both of the entertainers featured on it. It is clear that the thinking amongst the producers was that these men were needed to guarantee the success of the project. However, one listen to the recent releases from emerging producers and you will see that is clearly no longer the case.
Young producers seem to be more focused on releasing quality productions that display their skills and create awareness about them. They no longer see the need to get a brand name artist on the project as they are finding that going that route is simply too costly. Digital Sham, owner of Digitalize Records and Phamily Productions is one such producer who shares that belief.
Since the start of 2011 Digital Sham has released two rhythm driven albums both collectively featuring the likes of Fyahkin, Dexta Daps, Harry Todler, Unicorn and a host of others. He has just released his third album for the year and again has decided not to invest in any of the big brand name acts. His latest album entitled, Hill Top Riddim, features himself, Karamanti, Ju Ju Irie and few others.
Sham believes that the cost of getting more established artists on the projects are just too much for the upcoming producers. And unfortunately, getting the big names does not mean that you will get record sales or mass amount of downloads. Most producers now prefer to put the money towards promoting the songs, as that is also very costly these days.
